Realme XT India Launch Date Set for September 13
Realme XT finally has a release date in India. In recent months, Realme has been promoting its 64-megapixel secret smartphone and only during the Realme 5 launch event, the company revealed the final name of the product. The Realme XT is a smartphone with a quad camera, but what makes it special is that it is the first smartphone in India that has a 64 megapixel sensor. The wait is finally over, as Realme has officially revealed on Twitter that Realme XT will launch in India next week, on September 13, at a press event in New Delhi. The company is also extending the invitation to its fans, who can register and have the opportunity to win a ticket for the event.
Launch date of Realme XT in India, price (expected)
Realme broke the news on Twitter, posting the time and date of the launch event and the link, where fans can register as part of the draw. The teaser image tweet shows a science fiction illustration of what a camera lens is supposed to be, with four lines of text: precise focus, sharp shots, bright night view, ultra wide view, hinting at some of the capabilities of the cameras and, of course, the fact that it has four lenses. Clicking on the link takes you to a forum post on the Realme website, with more details about the fan registration process. There is a similar science fiction image published here, this time with the name of 'Hawkeye Project'.
We have already seen Realme XT up close and, from our first impressions, the camera looks quite impressive. Of course, what we saw was not the final product, so we could expect some changes in the final unit, both in terms of hardware and software. The price is still a mystery, but because of the fact that it is essentially a Realme 5 Pro with a 64 megapixel sensor, we could expect the price to overlap with the Realme X. This means that it has to be around or below Rs. 20,000
Realme XT Specifications
Remember, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is another phone with the same 64 megapixel sensor that was recently announced in China. It is only a matter of time before this arrives in India and competes directly with Realme XT. Towards the end of the Realme 5 launch event, the CEO of Realme India, Madhav Sheth, mocked that the XT was expected at the end of September. However, with the official Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme could have accelerated its launch plans in India, just so that it can claim the title 'The first' in India.
The Realme XT has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED full-HD + display, along with a water drop notch on the top. It also has Corning Gorilla Glass in the front and back. The phone works with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC and comes in three variants of RAM and storage: 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage. The phone also has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, a 4000mAh battery with a 20-watt VOOC 3.0 fast charge. The main camera is a 64 megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with an f / 1.8 aperture. The other three cameras include a powerful 8 megapixel camera; a 2 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth camera. In the front, the Realme XT uses a 16 megapixel camera for selfies
This is pure speculation at this point, but a recent rumor suggests that Realme could announce a Realme XT Pro model as well, or at least make fun of it next week. This phone is designed to have a Snapdragon 730G SoC, which would make it a bit more expensive than the Realme XT.
While we wait for Realme to officially present the Realme XT next week, here is everything we know about the phone so far.
