In ISRO Cartoon, Chandrayaan 2's "Message" For Lander Vikram
As India prepares to make space history by becoming the fourth country to successfully complete a smooth landing on the surface of the moon, ISRO has turned to social networks to publish a cartoon in which the lunar orbiter wishes good luck to the Vikram lander before the historic moment.
"It was great to travel with you so far, Vikram. Good luck! I hope you arrive soon at the South Pole," says the lunar orbiter when releasing the Vikram landing module, which responds: "It was really a trip! I'll see around you - in orbit ".

The Vikram lunar landing module successfully separated from the orbiter at 1.15 p.m. on Monday, entering a descending orbit around the moon. He has already performed two maneuvers to lower his altitude for a perfect touchdown between 1:30 am and 2:30 am on Saturday.
The landing module is expected to touch near the south pole of the moon in the early hours of Saturday morning. The achievement will propel the nation to an elite club that considers China, the United States and Russia as the only other members.
Once it has landed, the Pragyan moon rover, which is located inside the landing module, will be deployed and will deliver scientific loads to conduct experiments on the surface and subsoil. Meanwhile, the lunar orbiter will also conduct experiments: to map the surface and study the external Srinivasan of the Moon | Updated: September 06, 2019 12:33 IST

Meanwhile, the lunar orbiter will also conduct experiments: to map the surface and study the outer atmosphere of the Moon.
Vikram and Pragyan are expected to be active for a period of one lunar day (14 Earth days), while the orbiter is expected to remain active for one year.
India will also become the first country to land near the lunar South Pole on its first attempt.
Chandrayaan 2 began his trip to the Moon on July 22, launching from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh and successfully entering orbit around Earth a few minutes later.
The spacecraft entered lunar orbit on August 20 in critical maneuvers that lasted 1,738 seconds. The insertion of the lunar orbit (LOI) was one of the most difficult operations of the mission; the failure would have left the spacecraft stranded in space
