Samsung Restarts Pre-Registrations for Samsung Galaxy Fold in the US

Samsung Restarts Pre-Registrations for Samsung Galaxy Fold in the US

Samsung announced that it would resume pre-registration for the Samsung Galaxy Fold, months later it was delayed due to a durability issue in the initial review units. The company first asked consumers to pre-register for the smartphone in April, but all were subsequently canceled. It is important to note that pre-registration is different from pre-order as it does not require consumers to pay any money. Rather, it is an expression of interest in purchasing Galaxy Fold in the future. Users who pre-register receive an email notification as soon as the device opens for sale or pre-order.

Opening pre-registration in the US indicates that the launch of the Galaxy Fold is due soon, perhaps within a month. Korean media claims that the Galaxy Fold will be launched on at least 6 September in South Korea. The Samsung website still displays the base price of the Galaxy Fold, which is $ 1,980 (~ Rs. 1,43,000). According to Samsung US, the smartphone will be available to buy from at least two carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile in three colors: Gold Hinge, Dark Silver Hinge and Black Hinge.

To make sure of a successful launch this time, Samsung has made some significant changes to the Galaxy fold after the first batch did not meet expectations. According to various media reports, Samsung has implemented additional reinforcement to better protect the device from external particles. Also, the top and bottom of the hinge area have been reinforced, while the top protective layer of the Infinity Flex display has been extended beyond the bezel.
