Xiaomi launching Smart Home Devices in India on Sept 17

Xiaomi launching Smart Home Devices in India on Sept 17

Xiaomi India is preparing to launch new smart home devices in India on September 17. The invitation is out and shows a TV. This suggests a new My TV. For now, we are not sure which Mi TV model Xiaomi is bringing to India, but it is probably the 70-inch Mi TV that is already sold in China. Some also expect the 70-inch Redmi TV to launch in India, but that won't happen soon, the company officially confirmed.

Shortly after the launch of 70-inch Redmi TV in China last month, Redmi general manager Lu Weibing confirmed that it will take time to bring Redmi TV to India. He said the 70-inch Redmi TV will not launch in India in the short term. So, on September 17 we may not see the Redmi TV coming in, but there will be a new Mi TV. In announcing the smart life event, Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, said: SmarterLiving 2020: Get ready for the biggest launch of smart home devices in India! These smart devices will make your homes smarter. On the scheduled date, Xiaomi will launch more than one product. Together with the new Mi TV, Xiaomi will launch more Mi smart home products. Meanwhile, some Twitter users believe that Xiaomi could bring My vacuum, My doorbell, My Band 4, among other things. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the devices that will arrive in India on September 17.

Xiaomi India entered the smart TV business from last year and in a short period of time, the company became the number one brand of smart phone televisions in the country. Since launch, Xiaomi says it has implemented more than 40 OTA updates to date in all SKUs to date. The company also confirms that "it started releasing Android TV Pie updates on September 1 for Mi TV 4A / 4C Pro 32 and 4A Pro 43".
